Ingredients
- 180g Unsalted Butter
- 2tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 700g Self Raising Flour
- 100g Caster Sugar
- 2tsp lemon juice
- 360ml whole milk
- 2tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200C
- Heat the milk until just steaming, not too hot. Leave to cool slightly
- Put the flour, salt, baking powder and butter into a food processor and blend until breadcrumbs
- Pour into a bowl and stir in the sugar, then add the lemon juice
- Add the vanilla and the milk to the dry ingredients
- Mix the ingredients until it forms a dough
- Roll the dough out. 2cm thick for smaller scones and 4cm thick if you want bigger ones
- Cut out the dough in whatever shape you like
- Brush the tops with milk
- Bake in the oven for 12 minutes or until the tops start to brown slightly
